Tampa, FL (September 1, 2015) – On August 17th, Jacob’s Touch Foundation awarded the 2015 round of grants to four deserving Tampa Bay area families. These grants are being awarded directly to Bay area therapy and medical supply centers on the child’s behalf. We are very excited to continue to support families with children on the autistic spectrum.
Our Board of Directors and Grant Selection Committee have worked extremely hard to continue to give these grants annually. Grant Selection Committee member Ashley Swink stated, “This time of year is so special to us because we are able to live the mission of Jacob’s Touch Foundation, and directly help Tampa Bay families with therapy services, referral sources and medical equipment.”
Jacob’s Touch Foundation also acts as a referral source for families. We would like to announce a new funding source for families of special needs children in the State of Florida. The scholarship is called Step up for Students and the website is www.stepupforstudents.org.
Due to large financial costs and minimal insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorder needs such as therapies and medical costs, there are many more families in need in our area. The goal of our Foundation is to double the grant awards in 2016.
