We are hosting our annual fundraising event on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the beautiful Centre Club in Tampa. This fun filled event will be attended by approximately 300 guests from all over the Tampa Bay area. Our theme this year is “A Night in Havana” with signature cocktails, cigar rollers, guitarist and a DJ to dance the night away! Our fundraising goal of $50,000 will allow us to continue to assist those affected by autism right here in our own community.
In 2014 we raised over $35,000 at this event and gave out even more grants to Tampa Bay area families. Our goal for this year is to raise $50,000 for more needy families in the Tampa Bay community.
Autism affects 1 in 64 children. There are over 25,000 people in the Tampa Bay area diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. Autism is considered the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. today and is now more common than multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis and childhood cancer. The average annual cost of therapy for a child on the Autism Disorder Spectrum is $30,000 – and most insurance policies to not cover this! That means that families in our community are paying this amount out-of-pocket – or worse, unable to provide these therapies for their children.
So please join us for “A Night in Havana” to support the Jacob’s Touch Foundation and Tampa Bay area families struggling with children on the autistic spectrum.
